However, thanks to the field of cosmetic and plastic surgery, both men and women can address this issue with a surgical treatment. Dr. Rachel Walker of the Plastic Surgery Center of Dallas in Dallas, TX is pleased to offer nipple reduction surgery for patient consideration. In addition to other procedures such as breast lifts, breast augmentation, and breast reduction, she can combine this surgery in with the others for a more dramatic change. Below are some of the more commonly asked questions she receives regarding nipple reduction surgery.

What can nipple reduction surgery do?

Nipple reduction surgery is often performed to reduce the projection of the nipple and/or the circumference of the nipple’s areola.

What can I expect during my consultation?

To determine if you are a good candidate for nipple reduction surgery, our team may recommend that you schedule a consultation visit. During this time, Dr. Rachel Walker will evaluate you to determine if this procedure is appropriate for your unique needs. It may be combined with other treatments such as breast augmentation as well.

How many post-operative appointments will I need?

After nipple reduction surgery, you will have three additional appointments, including one a week following surgery, one at two months after surgery, and a final visit at six months. Any time there are concerns such as infection, patients may need to visit the doctor in-between these routine appointments.

Can I still breastfeed after nipple reduction surgery?

When performed by an experienced provider, patients who have had this procedure performed will rarely have issues in breastfeeding future children following the surgery.
