Are you unhappy of photos that have been taken of you recently because of the development of a double chin? A double chin can be caused by a number of factors, including weight gain, genetics, and age, and can cause some patients significant embarrassment or lower their self-esteem and confidence. If you are located in the area of Dallas, TX and are bothered by your double chin, there are a few treatment options available at our practice. Dr. Rachel Walker is pleased to provide two methods for patient consideration, including traditional liposuction and Kybella® injections.

  • Liposuction. Liposuction is a popular option for removing excess fat from the chin and neck. This procedure is performed in a surgeon’s office with local anesthesia. A small incision is made in the skin, and a thin tube is inserted to break up and remove the fat. Recovery time is typically short, and most patients return to work within a few days. Results are achieved immediately, though you will need to heal before swelling, redness, and bruising resolve.
  • Kybella®. Kybella® is a newer treatment for double chins that uses injections of deoxycholic acid to dissolve the fat cells underneath the chin. The results are not as immediate as with liposuction, as they occur with time. Many of our patients love the idea of the Kybella® injections as they do not require patients to take significant time off work and regular activities to heal as no surgery is involved. This also eliminates the risk of scarring and other complications associated with surgical interventions.
